Scottish Election Special: who not to vote for

straitjacket.jpgHere in Scotland it's nearly time for elections of some sort. Yes, "of some sort" I said, because I'm not entirely sure how all this political wrangling works. All I know is that some idiots have been delivering promotional leaflets to my door, which contain views from political parties that I do not like!

Yes, that party would have to be the British National Party. I heard someone say once that the BNP were Britain's equivalent to the Ku Klux Klan, but I think that would be going overboard. Even still though, the long and short of it is that the British National Party are "far right extremists", or, in plain English, racist lunatics. They are, in their own words, "committed to stemming and reversing the tide of non-white immigration" and "restoring, by legal changes, [...] the overwhelmingly white makeup of the British population that existed in Britain prior to 1948".

And although most of their viewpoints seem to be relating to "keeping Britain white", their party leader has also spewed out some anti-semitic and homophobic nonsense, scoring a triple-whammy on the electorial twat-o-meter.

So, when these goons put this leaflet through my front door, I was more than a little pissed. So pissed, in fact, that I immediately set to work annotating their flier with a good old dose of common sense, before telephoning them and telling them never to come near a square foot of my house ever again.

The informational pamphlet is careful not to put forward too many extreme views, and even includes some catch-all positives that nobody could disagree with, before slipping in some more questionable items. The BNP, apparently, stand for getting hooligans off the streets, more police officers, bettering health care, and higher quality housing. What's not to like! Oh, except that it's the BNP. Sorry, I nearly forgot. The three less enjoyable points the BNP make in their leaflet are as follows:

Scotland has been flooded with immigrants from the EU [European Union], who squeeze locals out of jobs and push down wages. They strangle the economy by shipping their earnings home.

Yes, damn those immigrants who come to Glasgow and set up stores selling computer components without ridiculously marked-up retail prices. How DARE THEY come here and give us a good deal! Damn them all! (PS: Scotland is PART of the EU).

The BNP will restore discipline and traditional teaching methods to make sure all students are literate, numerate and well educated, instead of being fed trendy PC nonsense.

This point doesn't sound too bad, until you read the last part of the sentence. I'm sure in the BNP's eyes, "trendy PC nonsense" is shorthand for "acceptance of people who look different from us or have a different opinion on what is and isn't sexually attractive".

The BNP will support current and encourage new Scottish industry and business. We will protect companies and employees from unfair foreign imports.

I sincerely hope then, that the computer accessories and components you used to create this pamphlet were all manufactured here in the UK, otherwise you'd look like even bigger morons. But how likely is that? Not very.

Anyway, that's the end of this post. I'm off to watch the adventures of white heterosexual non-Jewish people on my 100% British-designed TV... if it turns on, that is! Bye!

Did you get one from the Scottish Christian Party? I found their's perhaps even more worrying. The only issue they had on their leaflet was that schoolchildren aren't allowed to be told 'what an abomination homosexuality is'. I checked their manifesto online and they want to reinstate the death penalty, outlaw abortion, reintroduce corporal punishment in schools, and a lot of other crazy things.

I'm not sure who to vote for yet, but I definately will be voting- if only to dilute the support parties like BNP and the SCP get.

I never knew that about the Scottish Christian Party. Scary stuff. I think my X is going beside the Liberal Democrats, as usual...

I must ask the question, how the fuck do the Scottish Christian Party raise the funds to stand in these sort of things... I mean, it's like £5k an area or something? Maybe it's the hidden agenda of the church donations collection plate! Just a thought.

Like religion. I also dislike the political world.

I hate Labour to the core of my being. Conservative have sold out, and Liberal people seem more like fascists and very dangerous.

I don't have a party I would be overly eager to support, but when I think of my life experiences, current outlook, and other important factors, I'd vote for UKIP or the BNP.

The media and mainstream politicians talk a lot of false nonsense regarding the so called " Far Right " political groups. The BNP aren't a bunch of brainless thugs with no morals. That's an unfair preconception, based on lies and propaganda.

With the way Britain is today, I think we need a radical change. I truely feel that this island has become a nightmare over the past 10years.

I wish there were a party that we could all have true faith in. Sadly, life isn't that simple, so we have to make tough decisions.

"The BNP aren't a bunch of brainless thugs with no morals. That's an unfair preconception, based on lies and propaganda."
I don't really get into politcal arguments, but the simple refutation for this point is to go and see a BNP rally. They really are quite remarkable; the concentration of brainless thugs of exceptionally dubious moral standing is undeniable. So, tell me, who do the BNP represent, if not their members? These people have swastikas on their arms, and you're calling the libs fascists? C'mon Leon, get a grip.

I'm sure that the BNP are capable of showing a softer side, but that's fairly irrelevant surely when you consider the 'values' they're still based on.

The BNP have Swastika's on thier arms? Sorry, but that's incorrect. The reason why you may find people who do have things like that within the BNP is due to the fact that they are nationalists - just like the BNP.

Can you see them supporting an Islam party? They simply turn to the BNP or National Front because they are like-minded people. Most of the members do not speak for the BNP at all. They simply have nationalist views - and it's not a bad thing.

I've never voted, but I do feel that alot of Anti-BNP stuff on here and within the media is wrong. The BNP are just nationalists, like myself. I'm proud of my nationality, I just don't want our country to end up losing it's identity - which it is starting to lose. It was even in the news.

Immigration is a problem, and it's something that needs to be dealt with whether we like it or not. I like immigration, but too much is too much.

Lets take Australia for example. They have a VERY strict rule on allowing certain foreigners into thier country, even myself who's white wouldn't be able to live there easily. Do people call thier government racists?? - No. Then why call BNP racists who are just trying to do the same thing??

Australia has good rules on immigration, and it works well. Britain should follow thier example, but what party is going to do that?

Only the BNP of course.
